Even though I dislike posting here but I thought I'd say this:
Its a little disheartening to not get a mail but its also heartwarming that the Guild Wars team does pay attention and is looking out for us. They didn't have to do it but they went out of their way to make at least 1000 people happy.
Thank you and Happy Holidays

We look forward to seeing everyone in the Wintersday Festival, where we will have greetings and goodies this week for all!

I received my card in the mail today (509/1000) and I want to thank Gaile and the rest of the Guild Wars team for such a wonderful card and to wish them Happy Holidays as well. This has not only made my day but my holiday as well, because real life circumstances aren't allowing me to have much of a Christmas this year. I very much appreciate the time the team has taken to sign and send these cards out, and for that Anet and the Guild Wars team will forever have my support. This will become more so if I can find a copy of Proph CE with an unused key, once I have the money to buy it.
So thank you, Gaile, and the rest of the team as well - I can't wait for Wintersday to start so I can build on this fun I'm having!

Yes I do. I posted that in a separate thread that has now been consumed by this one, and the mod that merged them forgot to take out my notice.
But thank you.

i got one was surprised
I got a card, actually and initially thought it was no big deal. I guess it is. Mine is 473/1000. I have no rationale as to why I got one, other than I have 3 accounts....(not 3 toons, 3 seperate accounts, about 30 toons). I told my guildies it's cuz I always get the crappy drops.
I wish everyone got one.....

So... people with most accounts got the card? Or people who spent overall the most money on the game (accounts+online store)? Makes sense to me. And it's the filtering i would do if i was ANet

I received a very torn and tattered envelope today, inside an official Post Office envelope, with "ArenaNet". The Post Office extends a "sincere apology" for the document "inadvertently damaged in handling".
Alas, the contents are missing.
Still, I'm rather honored that ANet would include me in their lucky thousand.
So thanks, guys. Even if the Grenth's minions got to it first...

Commonality?
So far the "all games - most characters" seems to be the most prevelant. Here's everything I can think of for or against that relates to myself:
1. Guild Leader of small Guild of regular players
2. 1 Account with 14 characters
3. 3 Other Accounts
4. Have Prophicies, Factions and Nightfall
5. Often give gifts to other Guild Members
6. E-mailed Support in support of guild members that were ripped off by scammers.
7. Play almost exclusively PvE
8. Rarely Post on forums
9. Only participated in the 2nd year festivals and after
10. Not that old 1533 hours on all characters
11. 17 Titles in progress only 2 max
12. One of the 17 titles is "Lucky". Hey That must be it! LOL
13. Live in California
That's about all I can think of. If any card holder doesn't have all 3 games, or has say less than 8 characters, do tell! That might help narrow it down.
Regarless if we ever figure it out. Thanks again Anet! It was a really special gift. Best wishes of a Merry Christmas to all those out there who didn't receive one!

P.S. I wanna know who got #1!! LOL

My card is 48/1000.
I am not an outstanding player; I just have a little monk with mental problems.
The card I made for Anet is very plain in comparison...

The Grenchie who absconded with your card has been found, brought to justice, and is serving time handing out fruit cake samples to senior citizens over in Ascalon City as part of his probation. In the meantime, the CRT elves mailed you a replacement card today.

Me! My idea, I get the first card! No, no, I'm only kidding. I do have a card, though, to have made into a framed memento of this year's holiday, as we'll be framing one from each year in the future.
It's really sweet to hear how much this little project has pleased so many people!
